Uncertainty surrounds the future of the city's Hotspur Press building with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) deeming the site still "too unsafe" to conduct a full investigation into the cause of the fire - and the extent of the damage it caused.
However, what IS certain, is that residents of the city will face an uphill battle to save the beleagured building from the developers' bulldozers.
That is why we must do more than add our names to a petition.
We need to build a network of activists who, are prepared to write to, meet and lobby key decision makers, and physically turn out to future planning meetings and protests.
That is why I urge people to sign up to my email list friendsofmedlockmill@yahoo.co.uk
The mailing list will be used to update people on the latest news on the site, and publicise any actions, public meetings, etc.
Together, we can save this Manchester icon and preserve our heritage.
