Dear saveMACC supporters: thanks to all of your advocacy effort, the Vancouver School District has reopened intake into MACC classes for the coming year, but only for grade 5, 6, and 7, while leaving perspective parents with grade 3 students who could have entered the grade 4/5 MACC with no choice. It's April already and the district has not opened the identification and intake for grade 4 MACC, while failing to produce any justification for their action. We need a renewed effort to bring attention to this matter and urge VSB to open intake of grade 4 MACC, to keep the Osler grade 4/5 class, and to maintain MACC Program integrity before sufficient data can be collected to host a meaningful consultation on the ways MACC can be improved.
