Save Lynwood Park Forest!
The Issue
Let's save an old growth forest together!
My name is Anna and I am 9. Lynwood Park (where I live) is planning to tear down our local forest and kick out all the animals that live in it. I was biking around yesterday and I found a sign that contained all the information about it including how it would affect half the stream and also a short paragraph saying when they would do it which would be on March 20th. I go in there almost every day and love exploring. I was very sad for me and the animals when I found out about it and so I organized this whole thing! I told my mom that the animals were basically the same as us. Don't you agree? I said to my mother: "Imagine your home being taken away forcing you to find a new one. The place where you created all your memories with your family, the place you could call home being ripped out from under your feet. Getting lost. Hurt. Scared. Isn't pollution already enough? I mean, sure, we are smarter then the animals but it doesn't mean we can hurt them! In fact, I would call us stupid for doing this: killing them, hurting them, eating them, watching them suffer, polluting their home. We've already destroyed so much of THEIR habitat. They got here first! but we had to take all the land for us. I play a game with myself trying to find a thick, non-polluted forest. No such luck. In fact, What would you do if a cat fell into water? Stare at it and let it suffer like they do on instagram while it struggles, or help it and dry it off? Some humans are just cruel. They don't care. But I do. Thats why I'm doing this. If anything, I'm on the animals side. You hurt them, you hurt me. I know that they don't understand me, but I act like they can. In fact here is what I say: Nothing is impossible even if you think it is. Well, that is all I have to say for today. Thank you! And remember, pls reach out to me to help save the forest by signing the petition and letting the government know what it means to us!!!
