We have an exciting development to share: there may be a stop-gap measure that could help individuals access naltrexone immediately by requesting an exception for non-formulary medication, which, if approved, could allow access even before naltrexone is formally added to ADAP. While approval is not guaranteed, this is a hopeful step toward ensuring people get the care they need NOW.

At the same time, this does not replace the urgent need for systemic change. We must continue to mobilize and advocate so that all people living with HIV and struggling with substance use disorder have guaranteed access to this lifesaving medication.
