I know so many people have been asking what the Petition is about...
Little Jim has been a staple in Fort Pierce since 1944 as it has so much history. We are trying to have the City(as the property owner) submit to have it registered as a Historical sight.
There has been discussion over the past few years that the city may sell the piece of property. Our current lease is up in 2025 and at that time it will be decided if it will be sold or sent out for a renewal. Both processes require an RFP. If it is not designated historical and the city decides to sell the property it means the purchaser may do what they want with it.
If it is designated historical and the city sells it, it will remain what it is today. We are trying to show our City Commissioners and leaders what the community wants, and that is for Little Jim to stay what it is for generations to come.
