Save QEH Services petition passes 10,000 + leaked clinicians letter + save the date 17 Oct

🎉 WE’VE PASSED 10,000 SIGNATURES!
The Save QEH Services petition has now been signed by more than 10,000 people.
That is a huge show of support for our Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the vital services it provides to people across West Norfolk and beyond.
Thank you to every single person who has signed.
But 10,000 signatures is a milestone, not the finishing line. Please share the petition with your friends, family and neighbours and help us make our community’s voice even louder.
📰 LEAKED LETTER REVEALS CONCERNS FROM SENIOR QEH MEDICS
There has been another significant development in the campaign.
The Eastern Daily Press has reported on a leaked letter from senior medics at QEH, sent by the chair of the hospital’s Local Negotiating Committee, which represents consultants in discussions with management.
According to the EDP, the letter raises serious concerns about the handling of the clinical strategy review and the uncertainty surrounding the future of key services.
The clinicians say reports about the potential closure or severe downgrading of A&E, Intensive Care and Maternity services have caused “immense distress” among staff, patients and the wider community.
The EDP reports that the letter also warns of the impact the uncertainty could have on QEH’s workforce, with fears of a “severe workforce crisis” if experienced staff decide their future lies elsewhere.
The Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group has said that no decisions have been made and that urgent and emergency care will continue at QEH 24 hours a day.
But the intervention from senior clinicians shows just how important it is that there is clarity about exactly what services will be provided at QEH in the future.
Our community deserves answers — and the people working on the frontline deserve to have their voices heard.
🚨 17 OCTOBER: JOIN OUR HUMAN A&E QUEUE
Now we need to show just how far and wide the communities that rely on QEH stretch.
On 17 October, we're asking residents from across West Norfolk and the surrounding area to come together at Tuesday Market Place in King’s Lynn to form a HUMAN A&E QUEUE.
And we'd love you to bring something with you.
✍️ Before you come, take a piece of A4 paper or card and write:
YOUR VILLAGE OR TOWN
+
HOW LONG IT TAKES YOU TO GET TO QEH
Hold it up as you stand in our Human A&E Queue.
Whether you're coming from King’s Lynn itself or from one of the many towns and villages across our rural area, we want to make visiblejust how many different communities depend upon the services at QEH — and the distances people already have to travel to reach them.
Imagine a line of people, each holding up the name of their community and their journey time to QEH. Together, we can create a powerful picture of the area our hospital serves. Report
