Vote Robert McGuin X for Lepton & Fenay Bridge - Thursday August 13th

On Thursday 13th August, Lepton, Fenay Bridge, Almondbury, Lascelles Hall & Waterloo residents will vote for their next Councillor. I, Robert McGUIN will be on the ballot paper and I ask for your Vote. I have campaigned alongside my Father EX Almondbury Ward Councillor Bernard McGUIN for over a decade. We are the only ones with an active petition signed by 1,145 local residents highlighting our opposition to the housing and all the hundreds of houses proposed yet to be built in Lepton & Fenay Bridge.

You will know by now a Councillor for Almondbury Ward resigned less than 48 day's into the role causing a By Election costing the taxpayer £25,000 and an Election will take place for Almondbury Ward on Thursday August 13th.

The Election gives an opportunity for local residents to Elect a Councillor to represent Lepton & Fenay Bridge, Almondbury, Lascelles Hall, Waterloo who will champion in the local community, at Huddersfield Town Hall and Kirklees Council to voice our concerns the pressure of all the new housing and yet to be built housing is having on our local schools, roads, doctors, drainage etc.

That is why after after careful consideration, I  put myself forward as a Candidate for the Almondbury Ward By- Election. Working with Bernard McGuin and local residents over the years I have the knowledge and experience to do champion our local area.

We have campaigned for years https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/1000-huddersfield-residents-unite-block-25254686 with local residents. It is quite damming to read that £14 million has been kept by Kirklees Council over the years from property developers under the 106 section scheme that should protect our green spaces, puts money into our sewage/drainage networks, play areas, our local roads and local schools.

Afraid Kirklees Council are continuing to ignore Lepton, Fenay Bridge, Lascelles Hall and Almondbury residents on building hundreds of houses. This will have an impact on Rowley Lane School and Lepton C.E. School. Almondbury Community School closed down against local Parents, children and local residents objections. King James is at fully capacity. Yet there will be more children with houses been built/yet to be built and yet there doesn't seem to be a plan for school places for new families.

We know in the past the council has a poor record of holding developers to account over 106 section and when they have received this money they have put it into areas like Dewsbury & Batley and not put it into our local area.

We wish TLVPS  all the best as Lepton has been judged for Yorkshire in Bloom. I know the volunteers at TLVPS have done a tremendous job in improving the local community over the years. We wait for the results at the end of September. Recently TLVPS organised a community litter pick at Rowley Lane School, I was glad to join them with Bernard McGuin, as volunteers we collected 13 bags of rubbish.
