Post Office Limited has announced proposals to close Lancing Post Office and replace it with a small counter in another shop or supermarket, on a franchise basis.

This is a busy, heavily utilised office used by a wide demographic of ages for currency, post, passports, making payments. In addition, Lancing has recently lost key banks in the town and therefore its Post Office has served to pick up some of the trade from this. Moreover, if the branch was based in a franchise it would become dependent on another business. This would endanger long term postal service provision in Lancing and could lead to current staff losing their jobs.
Having lost virtually all the sub-post offices in the area there was an assurance given that the Crown offices would remain.

We call upon Paula Vennells, Post Office CEO, to reverse this decision and retain this key service for Lancing.
