We Did It — Lake Murray Will Stay Open 7 Days a Week!

Thanks to your voices, passion, and action, the San Diego City Council voted yesterday to approve the FY 2026 budget fully restoring seven-day access to Lake Murray!

The original proposal would have closed the south side parking lot and all facilities five days a week — but our community came together. Because of your signatures, letters, media outreach, calls, and public comments, the council reversed course.

We’re especially grateful to Councilmember Raul Campillo, who advocated tirelessly on behalf of our community.

This victory belongs to all of us. It shows what’s possible when people speak up for the places they love. Lake Murray is more than a lake — it’s where we walk, reflect, gather, and connect with nature and each other. I hope you get out there soon to soak in the peace and beauty of this incredible lake — we fought for it, and we saved it together.
