We wanted to thank each and every one of you for your support. An important point of the goal of our petition is to draft our own community based and sourced Task Force from the Mayor in drafting ordinances that protect our rights and is fair in accordance with operating standards and Codes. Please make sure to follow us on facebook for updates and posts as it is the most current. https://www.facebook.com/LafayetteTLA

We did hear back from Council Members and it looks like 3 of the 5 members are leaning to ratify the ordinance, which is, in our opinion not fair and one sided. This will result in the beginning of restrictions to STR (airbnb) in Lafayette Louisiana.

So this is the time to act and we have put together a game plan for anyone who can or wants to, to be involved. We have put out press releases, rallied with the Realtor Association and have done our very best at getting everyone we can to be involved and help to take action in this matter.

Sunday July 23rd: Press Conference at Paz Raaz STR. from 2-4pm. Located at 229 Gauthier Rd Lafayette La 70501.  News Crews will be there to take interviews from hosts and give their side about the STR (Airbnb) issue.  We are trying to create positive community input to be able to create positive momentum going into tuesday council meeting.

Monday July 24th: Executive Meeting @ Acadiana Open Channel in their Conference Room. Located at 101 Jefferson St. Suite 100 @ 530pm. The Mission is to be organized at the City Council Meeting and have a unified message, as well as to go over the ordinance and discuss it in depth with the hopes of understanding it fully and how it will impact our community. This is Limited Seating event so please RSVP your Free Ticket @ Executive Meeting Ticket

Tuesday July 25th: City Council Meeting Meeting starts at 530 but we plan on getting there for 4pm to rally support. We will have a printout of our petition and signature page, as well as be collecting new signatures to present to council during meeting.  We will also have comment cards and speaker cards for our supporters to fill out to present to the council before  they vote on this issue.

Our main objective is to shut down the 2 ordinances and call for a task force that is created by the mayor to draft new ordinances that will not be fair and represent the benefit of the community as a whole. As, is, our belief that the current ordinances only represent a select few/small portion of the population and were drafted to gain favor during election season
