Hi Everyone,
Time is ticking yet no one is talking to us about making arrangements to give Karen the healthcare she desperately needs now.
It has been more than 10 weeks since we contacted Joe Chadwick-Bell, the CEO of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. She still has not responded to us about our serious concerns and our call for urgent action.
Last week we asked that Karen be admitted to a local hospital early this week for PN (I/V feeding) in a side room, with Heather staying with Karen 24/7 giving her care and support. We asked for arrangements to be made for this with us without delay. We have heard nothing about this from the Trust.
Karen is very thin and frail and is continuing to get thinner.
Karen is scared that she is going to die of malnutrition & dehydration and scared that she will not be admitted locally for PN before it is too late. She is also worried as she has not been given the reassurance about the things she needs, as above, when she is in hospital. Heather & Michael are scared and worried about these things too. We are all very stressed and exhausted, especially Karen.
Karen needs I/V feeding and I/V fluid now and the things she needs because of the very severe ME when she is in hospital.
Supporters have been asking about what else they can do to help Karen and if we would like them to write to the CEO of ESHT again. We think that this a good idea and would helpful. Joe Chadwick-Bell’s email address is: joe.chadwick-bell@nhs.net
It would be great to hear if you have contacted Joe Chadwick-Bell. Please let us know by leaving a message in the comment section of this update.
Please continue to tell people about this petition and continue to share it on-line.
We are very touched to hear of everyone’s concern for Karen and to hear your supportive comments and about the ways that you are helping Karen. Thank you.
Best wishes to you all
Karen, Heather & Michael
