Cultural Heritage Committee Meeting info to support 1553 Ewing being considered a Historical Home

Please call in for the Cultural Heritage Committee hearing this coming Thursday Feb 17, starting at 10am, for our Queen of Elysian Heights nomination.  PLEASE plan to call in and make a one-minute statement on behalf of the Queen.  

But REMEMBER..!!
This hearing is for the historic nomination ONLY.  DO NOT mention any potential new development, or how it would be terrible if it were demolished, etc etc.  The Commission WILL STOP YOU and make you stay on point - historic only.  

Criteria for Historical Consideration is as follows, use this as a guide: 
1. Historical Significant Event - this house is a representation of early suburban neighborhoods and the site for relocation of displaced people of Palo Verde, La Loma and Bishop communities from 1959. 

2. Historal Personage - Significance of those who have lived in the house, including the Arechiga family who have been the face to the displacement of early communities and indigenous roots that helped build these neighborhoods.  

3. Significant Architectures - How the crafting and the Aesthetic of the house is representative of original neighborhoods, how valuable to maintain the history of these artifacts, not just in books, but in present existing form.  

This home is a time capsule for a rich deep history that should not be destroyed, we cannot keep writing about history while we simultaneously tear it down for future generations to forget about.
