St. Mary's Church was officially designated as an Historic Landmark by the Village of Pewaukee Historic Preservation Commission on April 29, 2020. This designation offers significant protection to the historic church that prevents the owner (Queen of Apostles Church congregation) from doing anything to the exterior of the church, including razing it, without a certificate of appropriateness from the Historic Preservation Commission.
