Talbot Heath is already a fragmented heathland habitat. It is harder for heathland to survive in a fragmented state. However it currently benefits from being adjacent to Highmoor Farm.
But every time a new development is approved nearby, makes it harder for it to survive.
In this day and age, are we really still thinking about destroying a large part of the greenfield site which is Highmoor Farm, which helps the Heath to survive? Are we really still adding yet more commuters to an already overburdened route, creating yet more pollution, breathed in by everyone including children on their way to school? Are we really going to turn this area into another part of Poole/Bournemouth without enough access to green space? I think we should know better, and try harder to find alternative sites which are more appropriate for projects like this.

How completely devastating it is, to watch our wildlife and its habitat being eroded, bit by bit. The area bequeathed by the Talbot sisters was once a large swathe of farmland: only small parts are left. Let’s save them for our ancestors to nurture and enjoy.
