Petition updateSave Headstone Horticultural Society + Doctors Surgery from RedevelopmentNews and uncertainty for the future

Thank you for all of your support and patience, you have greatly helped us in our plight to save the horticultural society!

We apologise for the delay in the update and although we have been quiet, many things have been going on behind the scenes. Thanks to all of our supporters, the money raised from last years sales have gone towards community gardening and planting, shopping assistance, covid vaccine runs, care packages and care calls to name a few.

We have been allowed to stay on site until the end of the year (December 2021) upon which our case will be reviewed. The society are still in the dark about plans for the site and the surgery which is greatly distressing to us and for our future. Unfortunately, the society does not have much certainty as little progress is being made from the council. we are unsure as to whether we can be allowed to stay beyond the end of the year or if we will be replaced by new housing development.

We ask those of you that have been backing us to please email your local councillors and urge them to speak to local government. What we ask is that our eviction notice is revoked so that we can continue to support the community and preserve our history.

If you would like to support the work that we do please pop in during one of our sales to see everything that goes on. We are on the corner of Long Elmes before Headstone Lane station and will be open from Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.

All the best,

Headstone Horticultural Society
