It's been awhile... but a lot has been happening behind the scenes!!!
Randi, Tegan, and Sierra have been working with the City of Lakewood Parks Department in a tireless effort to help save and preserve the skate park at Harry Todd Park. Our efforts, along with yours, are not going unnoticed or unheard!
While there is some unfortunate news that the original equipment has been removed for the pickleball courts, hope is not lost!
That equipment has been donated to Alchemy Skateboards in Tacoma and has already been put to good use!
We will be working with the Parks Department to incorporate bringing back a skate park/all wheeled area in the next legacy plan. That means we get a longer time frame to really get it right and raise a significant amount of money.
What's happening in the meantime?!
Come by Harry Todd Park for Parks Appreciation Day on April 25th, 2026 to see the grand reveal of our skate-able art element for the park! This park bench will on location at Harry Todd Park and will be encouraged to be used as a skate-able element for the community. It will be painted by Ryan's sister, Sierra, and a QR Code will be available to scan to learn more about the history of the Skate Park at Harry Todd Park and what our future efforts are to bring wheeled activities back to HT.
See the attached photos for a sneak peek at design ideas and the bench in question.
Current GoFundMe funds will go towards the art supplies and refurbishing of the park bench.
