Monday is an important day - the Division of Reclamation and Mining Safety (DRMS) will close a window on Monday @ 5:00 PM that allows us to influence (hopefully) the rules DRMS makes about granting hard rock mining permits. The goal would be to move the bar so that the rules are more in favor of the environment and less favorable for mining organizations.
PLEASE do the following: Go to savefremontcounty.org and find the
"Signon rulemaking letter" Modify it if you choose (use the Word version to make changes) Be sure to add your name at the bottom of the letter.
Open this web page: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSebRzQz4PQSpu4Dq8L81pIJK9uhMsDtnqXuJy_RHqSUyYuz_Q/viewform
The title on the top of the web page should be: Hard Rock Rulemaking Comment Form
Fill out various fields on the web page (like account name, your email address, your name, etc.)
In the field for "Representing" enter "individual" (or maybe "family")
The AVCC is already a recognized formal party. When individuals/citizens/families comment, you are a Non-Party interested person, so check that option.
In the field for "Specific Rules" enter "Rule 3.1.5(12) and Temporary Cessation amendments" (assuming you are commenting on both topics).
Go back to the letter (that you may have changed) and COPY all of the text in the letter. PASTE all of the text you copied into the field labeled "Comments or suggested language. Press SUBMIT - you're done
If these rule changes get made, you will have raised the bar that Zephyr must jump over to gain their mining permit.
