The San Jose City Council meets to finalise the status of Grace Baptist Church Sanctuary as an Historic Landmark  next Tuesday at 1:30 in the San Jose City Council Hall.  The approval by the Council is expected to be merely a formality, as the Historic Landmark Commission has already voted to approve the designation, but this last approval by the City Council will make it official.

There has been some discussion that the church property has an older original part and a newer Annex which is architecturally different than the older part, and is not considered to be part of the Landmark. It is our understanding that at our request, the official  report on the potential GBC Landmark, called a DPR, has been amended to make it clear that the Annex is not part of the Landmark designation, and may be available for development, if the Church should ever wish to do so. 

This meeting should be the last step to Landmark.  As always, your signatures on the petition made this possible, so again, thank you.
