Petition updateSave Gorilla Bua Noi (Little Lotus) the world’s loneliest gorilla!
MEETING WITH DNP ON 24th SEPTEMBER AT 2PM

sinjira apaitanBkk, Thailand
21 Sept 2014
The intention of our campaign is to raise awareness of the need for wildlife conservation and improvements in zoo standards in Thailand. The permission granted to PATA ZOO by the Department of National Parks , Wildlife and Plant Conservation should be revoked and zoo standards raised to best international practices. Regardless of the public concerns both within the country and overseas , the zoo continues to operate and "BUA NOI " , the one and only gorilla in Thailand continues to spend her days on top of the PATA Shopping Mall (with a high risk of fire and earthquakes ) after almost three decades. It is time for BUA NOI to be transferred to a new home designed specifically for her well being as she moves into her old age.
With the decision to revoke PATA ZOO’s operation made by the Deputy Prime Minister at the meeting with Women in Dhamma and NGOs for Wildlife on 30 October 2013, we had planned to meet with the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment but political events intevened. In the meantime, we have been communicating with the Pata Zoo Director to open his heart to creating a new direction for PATA ZOO which desperately needs relocation for the sake of all the wildlife housed there.
With the change of government we can finally take our campaign to the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation. Please join us at the Meeting at 1.45 pm September 24. The entrance is at the front gate of the Royal Forest Department . Let's meet on the ground floor .The address is 61 Phaholyothin Rd. Map is here: http://tinyurl.com/RoyalForestDept
Thank you all for your voices of kindness from around the globe for this needed action for BUA NOI and the other animals which will be a powerful motive for needed amendments to the governing public zoo operation in Thailand.
