Your kindness to all wildlife is such a blessing to all beings. I am writing from the voice of Buanoi for all wildlife in Thailand who have never had a standard zoo law to protect them. Buanoi is the one and only gorilla being kept in captivity in solitude for almost 3 decades on the 7th floor of the high rise zoo on top of Pata Department Store . I am the campaigner of www.change.org/buanoi to find a sanctuary on the ground level with natural environment as her new home for her retirement age. Now we have over 67,900 petitioners. Our voices have pressured the zoo owner to commit to move Buanoi within 4 years from 2016. The government has drafted the first zoo standard regulations . Somehow the draft law has not been shown or approved by the public or ngos and it has not become clear that all animals in PATA ZOO would be having a proper sanctuary or just another under standard zoo. Your Royal Highness, only if you wish to encourage Thai government to implement the zoo law to meet up with the international zoo standard of most developing countries, please kindly express your very kind concerns towards the significance of zoo law in Thailand (which should prevent wildlife trafficking and wildlife trade in zoos ) from United Wildlife to the Minister of Ministry of Natural Resources And Environment at 92 Soi Phohol Yothin 7, Phohol Yothin Road, Sam San Nai, Phayathai, Bangkok 10400 Thailand or webmaster@mnre.mail.go.th For as long as 30 years, any shopping centers , any restaurants , temples in Thailand or even a private home can be registered as a zoo by only the signature of the Deputy of DNP (Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation ). The issue of Buanoi of Pata Zoo , the lowland gorilla , one of the critical endangered species which is the world heritage is the only start of the long journey towards the well being of all poor animals in Thai zoos with no existing zoo laws and regulations. www.change.org/buanoi has some information in English and photos of Buanoi . The challenge for this campaign is the lack of education for conservation of Thai people. The best I can do for the moment is writing and publishing 1000 copies of book for conservation "BUANOI...My Little Lotus" to raise awareness to children and toThai society .
