Thank you all so much for generous support for the save the National glass centre campaign. It means a lot to everyone in Sunderland, and as far away as Washington DC, to know that glass blowing and artisan skills are important to the very fabric of our culture.
We at the campaign have begun to form a concentrated steering group, and set up regular online and in person meetings. Support us by sharing the petition, writing to MPs and the culture secretary, and by talking about the campaign as often as possible.
Sunderland has so much going for it, but taking away the National Glass Centre will be a step in the wrong direction. The building, and the skills should be saved.
Currently, there is no shift from the owners of the National glass centre, Sunderland university, towards even considering saving the building- so we need more of you to sign and share! We must show how valued it is. Also, go visit! If we can’t save it this may be your only chance, and if we can, then you will see why it is so important to the City, and our country as a whole.
Thank you
All the best
