Gov to finalise plans 'over the coming month or so'

MND spokesperson said this 10 days after the Parliament sitting. Meanwhile the continued stakeholder engagement promised during Parliament hasn't happened yet, and residents are working with MP to schedule a meeting in good faith – before plans are finalised.

Is this a race against time? 
Does it mean that the next MND press announcement will be the final plan that is cast in stone. 

How about unanswered parliamentary questions?
I have spoken with MP Rachel Ong about her questions that have not yet been addressed. Those questions were of an MP representing the constituency, the people. Same goes for other MPs. The next parliament sitting is yet to be scheduled. 

I am struck by the outpouring support and active discussions online. Especially from the younger generation who's rightfully worried about what they will be inheriting. Our decisions today impact them directly.  Last Sunday, more than a thousand people showed up to rally at Hong Lim Park  – it is worth pointing out that this number is exceptionally high by Singapore standards. 

In the 2018 National Day Rally, former PM Lee Hsien Loong spoke of intergenerational equity pertaining land use and VERS scheme framed around fairness to future generations. Today it seems, this conversation continues: the electorate isn't convinced that current forest land use decisions are correct – especially with nearby ongoing and future housing in the pipeline.

I won't repeat the points raised previously. Today I write about a broader question that applies to Singapore's approach, process and policy behind the top-down directives that accelerated deforestation.

After public outcry. After a parliament session where MPs from both sides of the house filed 23 Parlimentary Questions followed by 34 Supplementary Questions. Is it time for SG to reconsider how we view our dwindling forests and community havens? 

Our voices have been heard. Whether this all passes with just a shrug. Or whether the discussion continues will depend on us. If you feel that our national policy needs to evolve or could be improved in some ways, please spend 10-15 minutes to:
