Closing Soon! Official HDB Feedback (Deadline 6 Aug, 6pm) 💚

Official feedback channels matter!
Environment feedback
Heritage feedback
Please take a few minutes to share your opinion and comments about the new Gillman housing project. Gillman site is a rare blend of HIGH ecological AND heritage value that warrant a nationwide review.
Will it make a difference? Yes. Gov agencies are obligated to review feedback submissions through these official channels.
Not enough housing? There are already SEVEN new ongoing hdb projects and TWO private condo projects NEARBY within 0.5km to 4km radius (project names in petition). This fulfills near-term housing for a total of approx 16,600 households based on my count of information published online. Plus there's even more in the future pipeline from megaproject GSW Greater Southern Waterfront just 1km away. In the recent public engagement on 30th July, residents even identified alternative sites for consideration (vacant buildings, current empty plots, etc)
So many people have voiced out. Ordinary people.
Because we believe that clearing Gillman is an over-development. New housing should not come at the expense of Singapore's dwindling forests and unique community havens. There are multiple forests marked for development, all happening now: Sembawang, Maju, Gillman Forests, Serangoon River Forest, and another Tengah site.
HDB URA mandates are housing and urban redevelopment. NParks oversees biodiversity flora/fauna conservation but not sustainability or climate change resilience such as urban heating, stormwater risks, air quality etc. Such parameters were excluded from the EIA environmental study too. In my opinion, there is a critical agency stakeholder missing -- one that oversees developmental environment impacts in terms of sustainability and climate change resilience. Missing from the EIA. Missing in public engagement. Maybe this agency stakeholder (or the specific agency mandate) doesn't quite exist yet... if so, that should be rectified.
Thank You for your time and for supporting the petition.
