Last week, Collective Shout reached out to Change.org to have our petition removed from their platform, making false claims about "defamatory" statements. In response to these claims, we compiled a long list of evidence, linking to - among other sources - the organization's own website.
Today, I received a message asking for only minor revisions of two sentences to make them more clear. That means all of Collective Shout's objections were assessed to be baseless.
The revised passage reads as follows:
"Most notably an Australian activist group called Collective Shout, which has close ties to organizations such as the National Center on Sexual Education. Much like these influential partners, Collective Shout promotes abortion bans, censorship, and the criminalisation of the solicitation of sex work. Collective Shout is also affiliated with organizations and individuals who promote trans-exclusionary views."
It's very unfortunate the organization yet again tried to suppress critical discourse instead of engaging with it. But we'll continue to voice our concerns and demand artistic freedom for game developers.
