Coming to you Live at Welby Days! Sing-alongs and Coloring Books!
Saturday, September 19th, Sherrelwood neighbors along with the Save the Franklin Reservoir coalition will be setup at Welby Days to talk to you! We'll have a sing-along from 9-11, coloring pages for kids or adults, as well as treats to share.

A quick update on the status of our efforts:
The land use application is still under review by the county, and a hearing date has yet to be established. Once this date is decided and confirmed, we will be actively mobilizing our neighbors to participate. Comments are still being accepted through September 25! The preliminary geologic survey has been shared, and while we are still digesting it, it confirms the intensity of engineering required to stabilize the site of a former reservoir -- expansive soils, major excavation, and groundwater uncertainty -- all within close proximity to existing homes with existing issues with our soils and runoff.
I've learned a bit about our county's Open Space Grant tax, a voter-approved funding source for Open Spaces in Adams count. I was also informed that land acquisition is a current focus for growing our parks in Adams County. So, despite the consistent response of "there's no money for a park", I'm confident that if given a chance we could secure partners and grants to make it a reality. It won't be fast and it won't be easy, but I have to believe it's possible. And that's what we're hoping for, a chance to explore what else is possible besides more housing in our dense, park-poor neighborhood.
