Blue Water Development/Todd Burbage have defaulted on the loan for Grassdale. FDRPC pursuing legal action and property may now go to Sheriff’s sale. Please write to the following legislators and ask that this land be returned to the public trust, as it was always intended:

Dear Governor Meyer, Secretary Patterson, Senator Poore, and Representative Minor-Brown,
As you know, the Fort DuPont Redevelopment and Preservation Corporation illegally sold 135 acres of protected state park land (Grassdale) to private investors for the development of an RV Campground in Delaware City. Despite community opposition to the sale and attempts by activists to return the property to the Public Trust, it has remained in the hands of Todd Burbage/Blue Water Development. They decimated the property and abandoned it several years ago and listed it for sale last year. Now it seems Burbage and BWD have defaulted on their mortgage arrangement, the terms of which were unbelievably generous, and are now facing lawsuits, foreclosure, and possible sheriff’s sale of the property.
Now is the time for you to right the wrong perpetrated against the citizens of Delaware. I am writing to ask that the Grassdale property be purchased back by the State, returned to the Public Trust/Delaware State Park system, have all protections reinstated/reinforced in perpetuity, be reforested, and improved with eco amenities. I suggest that the 2.5 million dollars allocated in the bond bill for the FDRPC be suspended for a year or two to fund this endeavor.
Your constituents have put their trust and faith in you, please don’t let us down again. Return this land, promised to be undeveloped and publicly accessible forever, back to The People.
