Thanks to the interest you all have shown here and on social media, the challenges faced by Finch Store and its owner, Yana Miriev, have been featured in several news outlets since we started this petition.

Today, The Star reported on the case. Of interest: the article highlights that The City's Licence and Permit Issuing Office confirmed Miriev's licence meant she could serve coffee (which is why she bought a commercial machine and changed her business model) before a complaint caused them to go after her based on zoning, which doesn't allow it. If it seems confusing that someone can get/hold a license from The City and then be told they are also violating City policy, consider it confirmation you signed the right petition. A summary of the situation and the petition also appeared on BlogTO and The Daily Hive which featured a number of your voices on social media.

This attention and publicity are thanks to your collective signatures and efforts to promote this case on social media; thank you all for taking the time to support Finch Store and other neighbourhood retailers. Please consider sharing some of these articles so we can keep the momentum going!
