Save Fanshawe Pool and Gym

The Issue

Fanshawe currently teaches many people in the community to swim, has a popular gym and is home to a swimming club with 170 members. The closure of Fanshawe would be a major blow to our town and we urge the council to find the funding to keep it open.

Responded
Dear all, Thank you for all of your signatures, comments, and letters to my office on this very important matter. Ware needs Fanshawe, a necessary and popular local amenity. The spirit of the campaign to keep the pool has been absolutely fantastic, and clearly exemplifies just how much Ware residents care about their town. Please make sure that you all write in to Chauncy School and East Herts District Council as well about the potential closure, so that all stakeholders are formally made aware of the desire of our community to keep its pool. Ideally, please also attend the next meeting of East Herts District Council at its Wallfields Offices on the evening of the 19th July, where Fanshawe's future will be discussed by councillors. All of your Ware town and district councillors are backing the continuation of Fanshawe's existence. If we continue to show just how much we are determined to keep our pool, I am confident that East Herts will find a solution to the problem that prevents its closure. Onwards and upwards! Alex Cllr.
