Monday August 18th, 2025; the Fort Bend County Toll Road Board unanimously voted to REMOVE our North of Big Creek route as an evaluation candidate for further consideration as a potential alternative route for Segment D of the Fort Bend Parkway extension project!
Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority rejects Fairchilds residents’ proposed route for tollway extension
They, however, did not vote on a Final plan for this segment either!
Last night (August 19, 2025) the Village of Fairchilds City Council posted that they are advising the FBCTRA

the City Council takes the position that - should the FBCTRA move forward with the Project - the portion of the Project running through the municipal bounds of the City as part of Segment D2 should follow 1 of the 3 alternative routes as designated and marked on the attached Exhibit A;
The City Council of the Village of Fairchilds requests that the Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority construct Segment D2 of the Fort Bend Parkway Extension (Segment D) Project along the Red Alternative Route predominately along Psencik Road as designated and marked on the attached Exhibit A.

The red "Psencik Rd route" will displace 10 families, and indirectly affects at least a dozen more. (estimated construction costs = $127 Million)
The blue "Fairchilds Creek route" is the route that was initially approved by the FBCTRA in 2024.
This route displaces 7 families and indirectly affects at least half a dozen more (estimated construction costs = $123 Million)
Our Own City Council is against us!
Granted, our Mayor does work for Westin Homes, a builder in Austin Point, the development that is pushing this Toll Road, and he is actively working to sell homes in Austin Point, so we are not surprised at all!
The VOF council NEVER put this to a vote with the Residents of the community.
In fact when they hosted the 1 time Town Hall it was very apparent that the Community was against the Toll Road and wanted the Council to Push against it to move out of Fairchilds.
The VOF Council refused to sign our petition or fight along side us!
They also turn off all comments on their Face Book page to silence our protests!
Instead they work against us in the background with FBCTRA for the interests of a New Development and not the interest of the Community they are supposed to represent!
We are NOT giving up this fight!
We now just have to fight even Harder!
