F&mily,
I had a phone call with Information Technology Services (ITS). You're not going to believe this...this is 100% about money and resources (ok, you might believe that).
Here's the issue: None of us are okay with that. F&M recently ran a Capital Campaign and raised $250mil. But apparently ITS is NOT part of the strategic priorities and NOT effectively funded!
In a post-COVID world, how can IT and connectivity not be a priority?
Additionally, it was shared that the Alumni Association Board approved this change. How? We have written to the Alumni Board with no response.
What's Next: 1) Transparency with stakeholders is important and quite frankly has been lacking (until this phone call, credit to the F&M leadership). We have requested a ballpark number for how much money it actually costs per alumni to run this program. 2) If you have connections with the Alumni Board, please let them know how much this means to you, and REQUEST ACTION.
As always, more signatures are better! Currently our total represents about ~12% of all active @fandm email address!!
Have a safe weekend and Share Share Share!
