NGT order to BAN CONSTRUCTION till mid of SEPT'2017

Expert Committee Report submitted before NATIONAL GREEN TRIBUNAL shall be made available to all the parties by the KIT(now KMDA) as directed vide order dated 25.01.2017. Ms. Paushali Banerjee, ld. Advocate for Respondent No. 3 in O.A. 136/2016/EZ, shall ensure that this is complied with without fail. It is brought to our notice by Mr. Pradip Dutta, ld. senior counsel appearing for the applicant in O.A. 40(THC)/2017/EZ that there is a proposal to construct a temple within the Rabindra Sarovar Lake area by the KMDA which is strongly denied by Ms. Paushali Banerjee on instructions. However, we make it clear that no new temple shall be constructed within the Rabindra Sarovar Lake. We also make it clear that there shall not be any other construction for extension of the existing religious or other institutions. These directions shall form part of our final order during disposal.
