First, thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, commented, attended meetings, and spoken up in support of Smart Start and Bellringers. Your support has shown just how much these programs mean to East Hampton families. The conversation is far from over.
A Tri-Board meeting took place, and another important meeting with the Board of Finance is scheduled for Monday at 5:30 at the town-hall. Decisions that could impact the future of Smart Start and Bellringers are actively being discussed, and it is critical that our community continues to stay engaged.
This effort is about more than a budget line item. It is about children who have already received acceptance letters for Smart Start and are excited to begin their educational journey. It is about high school students who gain leadership, teaching, and career-readiness experience through Bellringers. It is about dedicated teachers who have built these programs and the families who rely on them year after year.
Most importantly, it is about the future of East Hampton. The decisions we make today as a community will shape the opportunities available to our children in town tomorrow. Strong schools, strong early childhood programs, and meaningful student opportunities are investments in the future of our town. The bigger bigger is at stake here.
We need strength in numbers. We need community impact.
Please continue sharing this petition. Encourage your friends, neighbors, family members, and fellow taxpayers to sign. Attend meetings when possible. Speak during public comment. Ask questions. Stay informed.
And when opportunities arise to VOTE on issues that affect our schools and our community, please show up. Meaningful change only happens when people participate. They are listening and they do care!
