Interim Superintendent Mr. Adam Smith: 

One year ago this petition was started to ask leaders to take urgent action at Dufrocq, the time is now to act for entirely new leadership for the Dufrocq community. 

With continued teacher departures during the school year, the toxic culture remains and need for change is dire.The informal system of friendships and connections through which EBR Schools staff use their positions to provide favors and information to help themselves continue to harm the Dufrocq Community. Leadership is not a birthright, leadership is a skill set. Bringing in the former principal's daughter as assistant principal proved harmful to the program they were there to help. Staff and families were told the, "wealth of knowledge," would offer significant improvements as they were brought in October disrupting the school year. Yet, that program has continued to decline with no evidence of hopeful change. 2 more teachers in that program left after that change during the school year, one just weeks ago. Leaders are given more chances than children, yet they cause so much harm?

With three different principals over the years and no positive changes it is clear the entire leadership is entrenched in toxic habits causing enrollment and staffing issues. 

EBR continues to send staff on expensive trips when classroom staff are struggling to help students. The spending and self promotion are out of control. It's time to put classroom staff and students first with new leadership. 

The Dufrocq School Community deserves leadership that will center on student learning while uniting this complex community with dignity. The time for positive  change is more urgent than ever. The community can't settle for mediocrity in a time of crisis. It's time to stand up and save Dufrocq again, and restore the promise to the community and make Dufrocq a beacon of the community.
