SA Alumni Society's Official Statement to Albany Times Union on SA's April 2025 Announcement on Dippikill Employer-Employee Dispute Settlement:
"I believe the Student Association's revelation last week that Dippikill was actually closed due to an employee dispute, rather than due to financial difficulties as they originally purported last Fall, shows SA & the Dippikill Board were not truthful with Dippikill stakeholders, including alumni.
Not only has the closure been an unreasonable and inconsiderate inconvenience to Dippikill patrons, but SA's misinformation led to a fundraising campaign, which we now believe was fraudulently induced based on their false misrepresentations to the media and public.
Most concerning is while UAlbany FOIL office insisted last month they had no responsive documents regarding the 2024 discussions SA and UAlbany purportedly had regarding SA considering selling Dippikill, SA's latest statement, we believe, now shows they are indeed on that track as we righteously alerted the public in December and they are apparently now using the lost revenue due to their closure to justify divesting SA from Dippikill exactly as we warned proponents of a sale would do in our Change.org/SaveDippikill petition.
Dippikill stakeholders deserve so much better."
