Remove Dean Hall from DayZ development team

The Issue

            It was almost a year since DayZ Standalone in so called "Alpha" stage was released but the game does not show any noticable development progress. The reason which gave the biggest revenue to Bohemia int. were the initial "alpha release" hopes because people were dellusioning not only of Dean Hall capabilities as a project manager but in overall development priorities overall.

            A lot of people work in IT industrty and have at least a basic understanding of product development process and milestones. I am one of them and as far as I see DayZ development process is a non-sence. Trying to personally find an explanation for what is going on there I came to the conclusion that this is a major project managment failure which not only made a dramatic mistakes at the initial architecture development stages but continues to make wrong priorities over and over again.

           I will not go in detail here because everyone who plays DayZ Standalone clearly understand what I mean. This is so obvious that it even does not require an explanation. Moreover I have to mention here that DayZ Arma 2 modification already contains most of the mechanics at least on a basic level which allows the current development team to easily implement it. I would go further and say that if we show DayZ Arma 2 Mod and DayZ Standalone game to a random person and ask him to choose which one feels closer to the finished product he will clearly      select DayZ Arma 2 Mod because the only thing DayZ Standalone has is the map. I would like to mention that map designers are doing a great job however they are not the case right now.

            From the current point of view and considering the recent interviews of Dean Hall mentioning that he plans to work on his own game sometime in the future I would say that you should ask yourself pretty serious questions. It looks like he tries to stretchen major function development as far as it is possible so there would be less interest from the game community to this game.

           As he states he wants to make the game as "close to real life" as possible but in an outcome it may just end up being overcomplicated and too late for community to accept. This is always an open question but even these overcomplicated things are already succesfully working in Arma 2 DayZ based modifications.

           How is that even possible that amateur developers implement new major functionality in Arma 2 and Arma 3 modifications over and over again when a professional team which gets a salary gives you only a "new purple hat" and "yellow trousers" each month? I am not speaking of Ragdoll implementation here because it is almost in nonworking condition in DayZ Standalone and was always there in Arma 3.

           As we understand at this point due to dramatic management failures this game is in an non-recoverable state so we the DayZ community demand you Bohemia Interactive:


           - Remove Dean Hall and his closest from the DayZ Standalone project management team.


           - Drop DayZ Standalone as a standalone project and transfer the only good thing it has - map and models to Arma 3 engine.


           - Implement all the functionality Arma 3 Breaking Point and Arma 2 DayZ modifications had at least on basic level.


           - Involve Arma 3 development team in DayZ development process.


           - Save DayZ
