Thank you to everyone for expressing your support of Dartington Summer School. Many have shared memories of the Summer School, how it was pivotal in their lives as musicians, shaping their career and providing unforgettable educational, musical and social experiences.

Yesterday, I read news confirming that the Summer School, ‘will no longer take place on the historic Dartington estate.’ 

In a statement, the Summer School Foundation shall organise and operate a festival from 27 July to 10 August at another location in a different region of the country.

Some really good news: The new site has 350 beds across 250 rooms and there are 7 performance spaces with 22 brand new Steinway pianos.

Full details will be released in the next fortnight with bookings opening at the start of December.

Thanks again for all your support. We can claim a kind of victory with the hope that the new summer school shall contribute to the life of music education, amateur music-making and concerts.
