Bring your voice, questions, and demands.  Your area representatives and the Mayor will be there.  

Why was this decision made in secret?

Have you calculated the costs that accrue to seniors and the community? 

Why were New Horizons and the community not consulted?

How does the current utilization of the hall compare to the utilization of the rec center on a square footage and cost basis?

Is this a strictly “cost to RDCK” that does not take into account the values and mission of the rec center and community?

Please show us your analysis.

It was suggested we could build on Rec Center land.  What would stop you from taking that after we do?

How do they justify breaking the agreement with New Horizons?  

Why renovate a perfectly good building only to have to renovate another to fill its need?  Does that make financial sense?

RDCK forced New Horizons to give up the custodial arrangement because of zoning issues.  (Though this was agreed upon earlier)  Why can they put offices on park ground?

How will you ensure this does not happen again as long as New Horizons continues to provide care and services to seniors.
