It has been a whirlwind couple of months and a testament to what concerned everyday community members can achieve.

Thank you to Central Coast Council for listening to the groundswell of community voices and actively taking steps to protect this important community asset.

Council have taken on a ten year lease of 48 HECTARES (!!!) of land in and around the Castra Falls Circuit. It will become a public recreation reserve.

This not only protects the surrounding forest from logging but ensures the trail can become a more prominent pitstop in the Coast to Canyon pathway.

We thank Sustainable Timber Tasmania as well, but the reality is that the clearfelling would have occurred out of sight out of mind if it wasn't for community outcry. Sadly, this coupe is symptomatic of what is happening across the state at a much larger scale. Our Tasmanian forests are worth more standing.

We are also campaigning to protect the iconic Dial Range from scheduled clearfelling of 45 hectares. Just like Castra Falls, this campaign needs your support. Please sign the petition.
