We have now reached 3,330 signatures!
Our previous goal was 7,000, but to truly ensure the future of Canoe Lake is prioritized, we are raising our sights. We want to reach 10,000 signatures.
Hitting this number would not only make this the largest online petition Portsmouth City Council has ever received, but it would also demonstrate a historic level of community unity.
We can only do this with your help.
If every person who has already signed encourages just two or three others to join us, we will hit that 10,000 mark quickly. Whether you are heading to work, meeting friends for coffee, or catching up with family, please take a moment to share our cause.
Canoe Lake is a historic gem, and is 140 years old in June By showing this level of support, we provide the best possible foundation for the Council to seek the necessary funding and lottery grants to upgrade and improve the site for everyone including the swans, to introduce new Byelaws laws, ban bbqs but have a place for bbqs on the Common where they can be rented and enjoyed. We are asking for more enforcement as well.
