Dear Supporters,
I’m truly, deeply grateful for every single one of you. Every time I open the petition, the number is higher and each one feels like a hug during one of the hardest times of my life. Your support is carrying me, and it’s keeping Dad’s promise alive.
C-GDAK "Canucks Unlimited" is the only living memorial in the world to RCAF 435 and 436 Squadron veterans of the Burma campaign. She was formally dedicated and blessed in the presence of hundreds of veterans — a moment that touched so many lives. My dad loved that airplane more than most people he knew. To him, she was "my love" — the closest thing to his wartime plane, the one he saluted with tears, the one he died holding a photo of because he couldn’t visit her in person.
After 45 years of establishing her as a flying tribute in Hamilton, it feels cruel to take that away simply because the "newer" C-47 means more to the current administration running the museum. We are feeling that cruelty deeply.
If you can, please continue to share the petition with friends, family, and aviation/veteran groups. And if you haven’t yet, consider sending a short, polite email to museum@warplane.com sharing why she should stay (your memories, the Burma tribute, or simply that she belongs in Hamilton after all these years). Civil, heartfelt messages from the community are being heard.
Together we’re reminding them this isn’t just a plane — it’s a living memorial, a promise, and part of who we are.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart. Olivia ❤️
