Petition Update – and a huge thank you 💚
Thank you so much to every single person who signed, shared and supported our Save Burlish Meadows petition, and to everyone who also took the time to send their own response to the Council consultation.
We wanted to make sure your voices were properly recorded, so rather than simply sending the Council a petition link, we prepared a detailed Petition Evidence Report and formally submitted it as part of the consultation.
Our first submission on 13 August contained 3,257 signatures, including 3,179 from the UK, together with information showing where that support had come from and the reasons people had given for wanting Burlish Meadows protected.
And because people carried on signing right up to the consultation deadline, we didn’t stop there.
On 14 August we submitted two further addendums, updating the Council with the additional signatures and comments received during the final day. By the first of those updates the petition had already reached 3,431 signatures, including 3,349 from the UK.
So everyone who signed before the consultation closed helped form part of the evidence we put directly in front of Wyre Forest District Council.
But the consultation closing does not mean the petition is closing.
We are keeping it running.
There are still important decisions ahead and every new signature continues to demonstrate the strength of feeling about protecting Burlish Meadows. The bigger that number becomes, the harder it is to ignore just how much this place matters to people.
So please keep signing, keep sharing and keep talking about Burlish Meadows.

What has happened over the last few weeks has only been possible because thousands of people chose to stand up for this special place.
The consultation may be over, but the campaign certainly isn’t. 🌿
