We estimate that the cost to help educators and their families with documentation and transportation is approximately £1,000 per person.

This money helps them take the first physical step to securing their long-term safety.

Your donations will be used to help those that already have relocation approval by the UK government, but do not have the means to pay for the necessary travel documentation and transport.

Without your support, they will remain trapped in Afghanistan, in a precarious and increasingly hostile environment.

We are hoping to raise funds without drawing undue attention to those we are seeking to assist.

We continue to work hand in hand with the British Council, who are actively liasing with the UK government to aid former colleagues with their relocation to the UK

Your support to date 

Your support and donations have raised approximately £12,000 to date. That money has helped 12 individuals successfully find safe passage out of Afghanistan to a third country where they have been formally assisted by the UK government. This included single women and families with young children. A number of those assisted were facing constant harassment, death threats and worse from the Taliban.

Some of the individuals have now reached the UK and are in the process of building new lives. Others remain in third countries and expect to be moved soon.

All have expressed their relief at finding safe passage.

Jamal* says: “After the long wait for getting approved by the ACRS scheme and being asked to move to Pakistan for the biometrics, we were however unable to get visas and move to Pakistan. The visa prices were no less than 1150$. This fund from helped us get visas for my family and after a long excruciating wait, get to Pakistan. Without this help, It would have been impossible for me and my family to get to safety. No words can explain the feelings we had when we got out of the limbo we were living in.”

Sumaya* says, “I got my approval from ACRS but due to economic problems I could not leave the country. Because of the Taliban, we lost everything including our jobs and salaries. Fortunately, in this tough time, I was introduced through my British Council colleagues to this Go Fund me page. They supported me financially to get out of Afghanistan. I would like to thank and appreciate all those who work for humanity, especially this fundraising campaign, donors, and the British Council.
