Friends of Boulder Tennis: We can't thank you enough for your passion, advocacy, and support as we work to ensure that Boulder County has continued access to the sport we love and the community that sustains it!

A few updates:

Great news! Thanks to the leadership of Donna and Kendall Chitambar, longtime coaches at Rocky Mountain Tennis Center, nearly two dozen Boulder County residents have pooled resources to purchase 20 acres of land in Boulder County for a proposed new tennis center. The new facility, Tennis Center of the Rockies, will be financed entirely by local tennis players.

The formal application to Boulder County features 18 publicly accessible adult courts, eight kid-sized courts, a swimming pool, and a clubhouse. Twelve of the courts will feature seasonally retractable bubbles. The site is located at 5701 N 79th Street, and the center is an allowable use per the Boulder County Land Use Code and the Comprehensive Plan.

What's Next:

Boulder County officials will meet on February 23 to determine whether our application can proceed. ***This is where YOU can make a difference.***

Thousands of players, parents, and local businesses will benefit from the proposed tennis center; many have already expressed their support. But Boulder County needs to hear directly from you. Please make your voices heard!

Volunteer! We need to get the word out across Boulder County and have many ways to help. Click here to see everything we're doing to help get the word out.

There are an estimated 12,000 tennis players in Boulder County, and we'll need everyone's voice to make this a reality!

Neighborhood Resistance is Threatening the Center's Future: Despite the overwhelming need for publicly accessible courts in Boulder County, this project faces opposition from residents a half mile from the project. They have organized a campaign of misinformation to stop the project. If you are part of this campaign, we encourage you to read more about the project on our website.

Thank you again for your support! Please spread the word. Comment "done" when you have sent your email to the County! Let's go!

NOTE: This petition is NOT a fundraiser. Any donations go directly to Change.org to promote this petition. If that is not your intention, please ignore the request to donate.

Best regards, Caroline
