Dear All,
We can’t thank you enough in supporting and signing the Save Bessboro Petition. We now need your help again:
An Coimisiún Pleanála upheld Cork City Council’s Planning Department’s decision to grant permission for a housing development of 106 apartments in a very sensitive area on the grounds of Bessboro where it is likely hundreds of children are buried. We are now calling on anyone who can get to Cork City on Saturday 18th July at 2.30 at Cork City Library on the Grand Parade to please join us in protest against the planning decision and urge the Government to work with Cork City Council to work to obtain a Compulsory Purchase Order for the remaining 60 acres of the estate. This land needs to be a Site of Conscience so we never forget what happened there and honour all those that died and remain in unmarked graves.
Please support us, come out in large numbers and don’t think others will do it, every persons support is invaluable.
Kind Regards
Carmel Cantwell
