The news that tonight AFC Wimbledon play their first game at their new stadium on the site of the former greyhound and Stock Car stadium, is both heartbreaking and a sharp reality check.

Yes it was a major achievement for our small group to get an extra year at Plough Lane, but ultimately we only have ourselves to blame for no longer visiting SW London.

Are our sports going to repeat our mistakes at Belle Vue Stadium? Let's sincerely hope not. 

Unlike at Wimbledon, our team has not only secured the opportunity to buy the stadium, but also continues to campaign to stakeholders at every turn.

Just today we wrote to the leader of MCC, Sir Richard Leese, highlighting the case for the stadium moving forward.

Tomorrow we check in with the MPs who are supporting our cause.

Whilst we wait to hear from the potential buyers who have contacted us, we cannot stress enough how important it is to show the wider community how much support we have by asking EVERYONE to sign our online petition.

All parties are looking at our petition to see what support there actually is for Greyhound and Stock Car Racing in the city of Manchester.
