The current National Hot Rod Champion Billy Wood, has come out in support of the campaign to Save Belle Vue.

Billy who won his title at a dramatic World Final at Ipswich's Foxhall Stadium last summer, knows only too well the value of grass roots motor sport.

"Stock car racing with all of its formulas, is a family sport where generations of families have always raced together. As many people will know, my own family is no different.

I myself have been around racing all my life, and started competing from a very young age, and so I know the importance of facilities such as the Belle Vue stadium in Manchester.

I have signed the petition, it was easy, and would encourage ALL race fans to do the same, to show our support to the campaign team attempting to save the raceway on our behalf."
