At yesterday's City Commission meeting, Commissioner Russell's ordinance to abolish the Bayfront Park Trust was unveiled as mere political posturing when the commissioner immediately withdrew the proposed ordinance. Commissioner Carollo reported that while Ultra agreed (in principle) to pay $2 million for a month's use of Bayfront Park, so far they refused to guarantee that amount, disclose past ticket sale breakdown and indemnify the Trust and the City from residents' lawsuits. He also shared that he's working on securing low-impact, "not noisy" alternative revenue sources for Bayfront Park.
