Downtown Miami Residents
May 19, 2018
This week, YOU will have TWO opportunities to make a real difference in Downtown Miami.
First, elections for County District 5 Commissioner are on Tuesday, May 22, and downtown's own Eileen Higgins is on the ballot! You can vote tomorrow (Sunday 8am-4pm) at the lobby of Government Center - 111 NW 1st Street. You can also vote on Tuesday at your assigned voting station. Don't know where that is? Use the link below to find out!
The second pivotal moment will be on Thursday, May 24, when the Miami City Commission will meet to discuss the future of ULTRA and Bayfront Park funding. Downtown Miami residents are invited to this special meeting, and will be given the opportunity to speak directly to our city commissioners.
Please attend this important meeting that will determine the future of Bayfront Park - a public green space for all to enjoy, or a concert arena and racetrack for private promoters?
Please email savebayfrontpark@miamidna.org to register to speak at the commission meeting.
When: Thursday, May 24 at 5pm (tentative time - stay tuned for updates)
Where: Miami City Hall - 3500 Pan American Drive
The first 75 residents who show up will receive a free "SAVE BAYFRONT PARK" t-shirt or hat - be there early!
