Campaign to protect future of Tillicoultry playpark and greenspace continues to gather momentum

As the campaign to protect the future of the Playpark and greenspace that sit within the Bards Way Development, Tillicoultry continues to gather momentum, residents are optimistic that the Council will take action to compel the new landowners to comply fully with the terms of the Section 75 Agreement that was put in place as a condition of planning permission being awarded in 1997, which requires title for the land to be transferred to Clackmannanshire Council via an adoption process.

The Council have recently issued a statement saying "The Council will continue to engage with the owner(s) of the landscaped areas in order to implement the obligations of the Section 75 Agreement", but unprincipled developers could still seek to have the agreement modified, which if allowed could result in losing the playpark and greenspace and set a precedent that could impact many other communities across Scotland.
