We at Pacific Wild are grateful and inspired by the incredible generosity that people from all over the world have shown for B.C.’s threatened wolves. In just five days, over 1000 people made the effort to ensure our crowdfunding goal was reached and thousands more have made their views known to government. We are now at work designing ads that will bring this wolf slaughter to the very cities where the decision to commit this horrific wildlife cull took place. We are working with our colleagues both in Canada and abroad to bring even more attention to this issue and are working with various media outlets to ensure that the real reason that this wolf kill is occurring – government’s refusal to protect habitat and limit human encroachment in critical woodland caribou habitat – is told. We have our work cut out for us. Ultimately, the decision to allow so many wolves to be killed by such an inhumane method is a political one and we are committed to working towards the day that B.C. wolves receive a level of protection deserving of such highly social and intelligent animals. With more, we can do more. Every dollar raised through this crowdfunding campaign will go directly towards protecting B.C. wolves. The more money raised the louder we can get and if we are going to get the attention of government we will have to get a lot louder. Killing one species to protect another simply does not work. Together we can make sure that B.C. wolves being killed right now do not die in vain.
